Waxing AFTERCARE

Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 hours. This means:

  • No hot baths or showers (warm water only).
  • No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
  • No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).
  • No sport, gym work or other exercise.
  • Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area.
  • Use an exfoliating glove after two days, then two or three times a week after and keep your skin moisturised.

Please note: Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

KEEP IT CLEAN

The best way to start your after-care after waxing, is to put on clean items of clothing after you’ve been waxed – Think about it - Your skin needs to breath. Have you been in that item of clothing all day if the answer is YES - change your clothing as soon as you get home.

INGROWN HAIRS

This is when new hair becomes trapped under the skin and is unable to break through, causing it to grow sideways. Prevention is always best as a part of your aftercare.

EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE…. 3-4 TIMES per week. This helps to keep the skin soft and allows the new hairs to break through. Ensure you moisturise to keep the skin soft as this will also help the hair grow through.

I stock various products to prevent and treat ingrown hairs, please feel free to ask me about these when you have your appointment.
